Welcome! This is the first Blog from Nelson Ranch. Our goal is to communicate our adventures and lifestyle about ranching to people and what it takes to make a ranch work.
We are in the season of winter, feeding all the cows takes most of the day. We already have at least 2 feet of snow, and it is now snowing today. Brian completed feeding at about 1pm today and is now going to get a cow that is in a corral by the forest permit that was found yesterday. We have a 614 pair permit on the forest and we round most of them in the fall, a few finally show up now. All the cows and bulls are around home now so we can feed them.
Hopefully, in the coming year, I, Cynthia, will be able to tell some monthly stories about our ranching lifestyle and be able to show how we ranchers work to produce the important food we all need, beef. Have a great week, and will continue next year, 2013!
