Change is in the Air!

Change is in the Air!!

Amazing how the year goes by.  Us, Ranchers are always busy tending to our cattle and horses. Nelson Ranch has been evolving one step at a time to being better and better despite all the challenges we face in our cattle industry. We can feel overwhelmed and frustrated with the current economic circumstances, but we can always change our thoughts and attitudes to help us move forward! Family member, Averie Lee Stanley who is the 6th Generation on this ranch, really helps us focus on our priorities to overcome many of our obstacles.
Fall is now here but Winter is just around the corner. We already had snow on Sept 29th!!  We had a nice calving season this year and a productive hay season. We now are gathering cattle from our USFS permit. Soon we will wean our calves and get everything ready for our Winter season.  Never a dull moment around here!  Enjoy our latest photo story, but continue to follow us on our Facebook page to get monthly updates on our working cattle ranch.

Looking Forward to 2019!

Averie and Pappa Brian

Looking Forward to 2019!

Wow!  2018 really flew by fast.  Everyone who I talked to also agreed, where did the time go?  Anyway, we ranchers/farmers are always involved in many projects but our main job is to Feed the World.

I encourage everyone who reads this blog to appreciate and honor all the ranchers and farmers who work 24/7 daily to produce quality food products so we can eat. The Nelson Ranch has been producing quality beef protein for many years and we hope to continue with your support of purchasing beef products.  The Nelson Ranch looks forward to 2019 with its dedicated team members to take care of and raise quality beef cattle in Washington State.

Please enjoy the following picture story of the last few months of  Nelson Ranch's adventures including the youngest member of our team, 6th generation Averie Lee Stanley.

Grow Grass Grow!!

Grow Grass Grow!

Wow!  How fast time flies by.  It has already been 3 months of incredible work and play on the Nelson Ranch.  Grass is the main product that us Ranchers produce.  It feeds the cow pairs on pastures and on the Forest Permit. Grass hay is also managed to make the winter feed. Mid May the hay pastures are planted. At that time we also gather the cow pairs to brand and vaccinate the calves. In June we then turn 614 cow pairs into the USFS permit. It takes lots of dedicated work and management to create this incredible adventure.  Averie is Nelson Ranch 6th Generation Family Member.
