Welcome 2017!!

Welcome 2017!

My how quickly Time flies By!  We welcome 2017 to be a fantastic year. We hope to connect in this Blog more stories of how our business of raising beef is done so consumers can understand what we Ranchers do. We will be posting more pictures/stories about Averie Lee Stanley, Brian's Granddaughter. She is the 6th generation of the Nelson Family. We hope to share her adventures as the newest member of the Nelson Ranch Crew.  Follow us on our Facebook page, Nelson Ranch as well. Averie is now 17 Months old and we are so Proud of her being a natural horse,dog, and cow lover already!

 We had a  Successful Fall Roundup and Weaning Season at the Nelson Ranch.  All 614 Cow/calf pairs were rounded up by the end of October 2016 from the USDA  Forest Permits.The calves were then weaned and sent to Pure Country Farms in Ephrata, Wa. to be fed until processed.

Winter Feeding is now being done from 7 am until noon. Hay is fed with tractors and a feed processor which cuts the hay so the cows can eat it better.
